Merry Christmas from Our Home

I love Christmas, and decorating the tree is always the fun part.

Our tree this year had lovely silver, glass and glittery ornaments that I've collected over the years, each with a memory attached to it.  I am partial to silver ornaments and lots of glass chandelier garland, ones that have a patina or distressed finish, but I also like whimsical ornaments that make me chuckle.

Here are some images from our Christmas tree this year.  May you and your family be blessed with a warm and cherished holiday and a new year filled with health and happiness.
"Ohhh, Tidings of Comfort and Joy...."
Wedding Bell Ornament given to me on my wedding day.
White wire reindeer from ROOST. Love the cool lines.
Gold glitter reindeer flying...
Handmade sequins heart from Anke Drechsel, a favorite fabric designer.
A gold house lit with tree lights, given to me when I was teaching.
Polish glass with silver glitter Pagoda.
French Silver Fish
Love coffee. That's all I can say.
I really like the big fluffy looking silver ornament as it reminds me of a tutu.

Sally sleeping in the glow of the tree...sshhhh..

Scarves Made in Lyon, France
Now @ R.H. Ballard

French scarves and shawls at r.h. ballard
I have to admit, I love French scarves.

This year, in my constant search for unique and beautiful items for our shop I came across two French textile design companies called Malfroy and Bonnefoy. Their designs are the focus of my scarf corner this year! I love their choice of shapes, colors, textures and feel.  They use only the best cotton, velvet and wool to produce stunning pieces of wearable art. Come by our shop during this Christmas season to check them out!

Here are a few images to enjoy today:

Christmas in Little Washington Dec. 5, 2010

This was another amazing Christmas in Little Washington celebration, now in it's sixth year!

The shop was brimming with joyful  customers ready to have a great time in town. We had an Open House as did many of the businesses, and the Inn at Little Washington was also decorated for the holidays (see interior and exterior shots of some of the Inn decorations below).

Lots of food and treats at every turn, a great Artisan Market, lovely Madrigal Singers, Llamas, Donkeys, Therapy Dogs, Brownies and Cub Scouts, Antique Cars, Bagpipers, U.S. Army Fife and Drum Corp, Rappahannock High School Band, The Mayor John Sullivan and his wife Beverly Sullivan, a happy Santa and his Elves, and a really fabulous small town parade for everyone to enjoy.
